The paper from Cooperacy is selected for the IASC Conference "The City as a commons" in Bologna. During a plenary speech, Alessandro suggests to have a common fund for changing the current economic system that is the principle obstacle against a culture based on the commons framework. The idea is appreciated with some smiles -and some laughing too- because of its eccentric nature. When back home, Alessandro understands that a collection of common money could be the missing piece of the Cooperacy project.

While awaiting the response from the University of Michigan, we sent the same paper also to the Ouishare Fest, the leading festival of the Sharing Economy movement in Paris. There, the model is well appreciated and many people seem to be interested, but only a few really get in touch with the Cooperacy group.

Winter 2015 - Cooperacy approved @ CIC 2015

The paper goes well and Ilario and Alessandro decide to invest private money and fly to Silicon Valley in order to attend the Collective Intelligence Conference in Santa Clara. The group start to prepare the poster that will be used to present the model.

Autumn 2014 - Cooperacy research group

Alessandro Merletti De Palo looks for researchers interested in the Cooperation model he had been into for many years. He contacts his long term partner in the previous studies, the group psychologist Maria Gisa Masia, who introduced him to the psychological approach to groups dynamics. Then he invites the statistician Mariangela Nitti too in order to start the preliminary data studies about the Cooperation Context Index. Alessandro Mancinella, a Masia colleague, will join the group in order to support the social representation analysis; Ilario Tito is of course part of the team together with other two who will then leave the group for lack of time. An Indian developer, Kanwar Ujjawal Sing sets the first basic website. The researchers edit a presentation paper in order to participate at the 2015 Collective Intelligence Conference organised by Scott Page from the University of Michigan and by the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence held in Santa Clara (CA), Silicon Valley.

2014 - The Beginning

At the beginning of 2014, Alessandro Merletti De Palo meets Ilario Tito, an old friend from primary school, at Bar della Pace (The Peace Bar) in Rome, and tells him about the possibility of a social ecosystem based on cooperation where wealth, activities and governance are well distributed. They plan to look for other people interested in the idea.
